After an injury in 1992, I got my first massages and my curiousity turned into serious interest. After seeing & experiencing chair massage from Steve Citty at a health fair in the Candy Factory in Knoxville, I new that I wanted to do chair massage. I soon began massage training which included chair massage training by David Palmer of TouchPro Institute..  I was accepted as a Professional Member of the American Massage Therapy Association and the Tennessee Massage Therapy Association. I began MassageWorks in 1994. Tennessee instituted licensing in 1995. My license number is 64.

At some point I developed an interest in kinesiology and, in 2002, began studying kinesiology with Arlene Green at the US Kinesiology Institute in Chapel Hill, NC. In 2003 I became a Touch for Health® Kinesiology Certified Instructor. Continued studies included the Professional Kinesiology Program which led to my becoming a Certified K-Power® Instructor in 2008.

In 2006, I did a 200-hour Acupressure for Stress intensive at the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley, CA.

My bodywork is combines Osteopathic Manual Theapy with meridian, muscle, body/mind balancing approach incorporating with Eastern and Western techniques.

MassageWorks became an Approved Provider for the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork in 2008.

In 2009, I became a Certified Instructor for Dr. Paul Lam‘s Tai Chi for Arthritis.
